Ida May is a two bedroom self catering chalet on the historic Humberston Fitties conservation area near Cleethorpes in Lincolnshire.

 

Originally called Michelleann, we purchased Ida May on May 3rd 1967.  Prior to this my grandmother (the original Ida May) had owned a small holiday caravan on the adjoining municipal caravan site.  With an ever expanding family, it was decided that a bungalow on the Fitties Camp would be more suitable for family fun. With only cold running water and calorgas, our Fitties bungalow was a real camping experience.

When Ida May passed away in 2001 just short of her 101st birthday, we decided to rename the bungalow in her honour as she had enjoyed so many wonderful summers here.

 

Fast forward over half a century and Ida May Fitties still stands proudly in her 1970s glory and Ida May’s great, great grandchildren are still relishing the simple pleasures of fresh air, sun and sea at the Fitties.

 

Now you are invited too!  We don’t have wifi, or a washing machine, but we can offer 100% nostalgia and a holiday experience quite unlike any other. Ida May sleeps up to 4 in one double and one twin room and is available for a minimum of 2 nights.
